What’s YOUR color?

July 18th, 2008 · No Comments

Bagsnob has this cute quiz that shows your personality based on the color of the bag you tend to like.  Go ahead, take it first.  It takes 2 seconds.
Now guess what I chose??

I like bright colors, and I chose the yellow bag.  So what does that say about me?

YELLOW

You are cheery, optimistic and love attention. When wearing yellow though, you tend to lose your temper more often and if you have kids, I would stay away from yellow as it makes babies cry more! You can sometimes be overbearing and hyper but you benefit from a high metabolism. But if you concentrate, you can be very focused.

I think that sums me up quite well, don’t you?

*<3 **JRZ&Z** <3*

That title has got to be the most net-lingo I’ve ever used.  But I do love JRZ&Z, basically, Julie, Richard, Zoe, and Zac!!  They showed me the best time ever in such a short amount of time in Manhattan.  They brought out the morbid side of me that liked crime scenes.  I found out I couldn’t blow raspberries and babies don’t like me much unless I dance around like a monkey.  Papaya juice tastes good (but why does papaya milk stink so much?).  And fries dipped in a wasabi mayo sauce is seriously delicious.

NYC as a whole is sorta yicky, hot, humid, and smelly.  But, Manhattan itself is just soo cool and fun, it kinda makes up for it all.  Yes, this so cal, space loving, car driving gal, likes the small enclosed pedestrian life of Manhattan.  I love how you can walk everywhere, and there are stores on both sides of the street, making the walk seem closer.  I love how you can take ferries!  The subway scares me to no end (what about an earthquake?  Z:  we don’t get that here; what about a black out? Z: we don’t get those either) since the idea of being stuck underground is just a tad nerve-wrecking.  But then there are buses, and I’m used to buses.

I love how things are opened late for night owls like me!  I loved how I still got to taste delicious food at 10, 11, 12 at night!!  I love how grandiose the buildings are, and how historical the island feels.

The things that still puzzle me - the trash bags out on the streets and where in the world gas stations are.  Why don’t they put trash bags inside big trash cans for the trash trucks to pick up?  And seriously, where are the gas stations??  Or do people with cars have to drive outside of Manhattan to get gas?

If both Will and I can find a job in Manhattan, I’d move in a heart beat.  Actually, that will be a post for another day.

Driving Through Manhattan

July 14th, 2008 · No Comments

I’ve been in NY/NJ for the best 2 days, and I still haven’t seen Manhattan.  We’ve only drove through Manhattan once, letting us get a quick glimpse of it.  The streets are soooo narrow, there are sooo many cars, and the pedestrians really need to stop standing on the damn street!!!  AND they need to stop walking when the red hand comes up.  SHEESH!

The drivers here are worse.

Thank goodness I wasn’t driving, or else I might have gone postal.

Oh and another thing.  GPS systems don’t work that well in Manhattan either because of the tall buildings.

But, Manhattan still looks cool.  Now only if my dad lets me actually GO and enjoy.

Yes Ma’am!

July 13th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I’m actually quite cool with my parents, but for one reason or another, it bugs me when they tell me to sleep.  I have no idea why, but people telling me to go to sleep annoys me to no end.

It’s like.. I know I have to sleep.  Yes, I am tired.  But guess what?  I have insomnia.  I’m also used to being awake at 12 AM, despite having little to no sleep the day before.  So please, stop telling me to go sleep!!!

Dare to Try??

July 7th, 2008 · No Comments

I sure don’t.. from Daytipper.com, I read this:

Cure a yeast infection naturally

It sounds gross, but garlic is a natural anti-fungal. Insertion of a clove of garlic into the vagina daily (remove daily as well) will cure a yeast infection in as little as a day.

That’s just disgusting and gross!!!  I can never ever look at garlic in the same light again.
